The Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 and the Jeanne Clery Act of 1998 requires Des Moines University to prepare and publish certain information concerning its policies and procedures which affect all current students, employees and applicants for enrollment and employment. The information, outlined below, must be made available to these groups of persons, upon request, annually. The University considers the information and policies pertaining to individual safety or security described below to be of great importance. However, the University must explicitly disclaim any contract, warranty or guarantee of safety as between it and others on the University campus and arising out of this compliance. No matter what methods and procedures are in place relative to safety and security, an individual’s safety is largely his or her own responsibility.
