Jogger reports suspicious person
A jogger reported a cyclist following her near Gibson Hall around 6:30 p.m. The jogger first saw the cyclist riding toward Freret Street as she jogged toward Gibson Hall. The cyclist turned around and began riding behind her. When the jogger stopped by an emergency call box near Gibson Hall the cyclist asked her, “Do you always stop by emergency phones?” and began heading back toward Freret Street.
Cyclist collides with golf cart
A cyclist was traveling the wrong way on Newcomb Place when he collided with a golf cart in a crosswalk. The cyclist was thrown from his bike and sustained a two-inch cut to his face. Tulane Emergency Medical Services transported the cyclist to a local hospital. The Tulane University Police Department charged the cyclist with operating a vehicle against traffic.
Student charged with drug possession
An anonymous caller reported seeing a student who smelled of marijuana trying to enter Willow Residences. TUPD searched the student, who had bloodshot eyes and was slow to respond. They found rolling papers, a lighter and a baggie of marijuana. TUPD charged the student, turned the student over to New Orleans Police, and brought the student to Central Lockup.
Guitar found at the Lavin-Bernick Center
UNICCO workers told TUPD they found a guitar and its case while cleaning the LBC food court Oct. 10. The guitar and case are being stored until they are claimed.
